Recent Meeting

A CNO Meeting was held on Tuesday, June 15, at Our Savior Lutheran Church. We discussed several new real estate developments coming to the neighborhood. Scott Robinson, Vice President of the Westwood Residential Company, discussed the San Paloma Apartment Complex, a large upscale apartment complex that is being built to the west of the Westview Canyon subdivision between Yager and Palmer Lane.

National Night Out

National Night Out is Tuesday August 3, 7-10 p.m. National Night out is a nationwide event to help neighbors meet one another and help reduce crime. Neighbors are encouraged to organize a block meeting with neighbors on your block.

Information on the city of Austin's National Night Out can be found at http://www.ci.austin.tx.us/police/nno.htm A national organization dedicated to National Night Out can be found at http://www.nno.org

The following info is from the city of Austin's National Night Out web page:

This is how it works. From 7pm till 10pm on August 3rd, residents in neighborhoods throughout Austin and across the nation are asked to turn on their front porch light, venture out onto their street and spend the evening with neighbors, police officers, fire fighters and EMS personnel. Many neighborhoods host a variety of events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, youth activities and anti crime and drug rallies. This event is an excellent opportunity for the citizens of Austin and the Austin Police Department to get together to promote crime and drug prevention awareness and to continue strengthening the police-community relationship.
